Supervisor-Consultants provide SUPERVISION for all special education classes, out-of-district placements, related service staff, extended school year programming and any form of special education programming.

Supervisor-Consultants offer special education CONSULTATION to educators in local and exempted village school districts.  Areas of consultation include:  IEP development, curricular accommodations and modifications, intervention design and progress monitoring, behavior issues, assistive technology, communication concerns and assessment.

SUPERVISOR-CONSULTANTS are available to:

• Assist with the process of identifying children suspected of  needing special education programs or services

• Assist with implementation of the special education policies and procedures

•  Assist with behavior intervention planning

• Observe students in the classroom

• Assist with developing and writing an appropriate IEP

• Design needed in-service programs for staff and/or school districts

• Facilitate support groups among staff members, i.e., orchestrating opportunities for teachers to meet and network regarding topics relevant to the classroom

• Support inclusive practices for special and regular education teachers

• Assist in the coordination of services with outside agencies

• Assist in completing state forms and applications

• Assist districts in recruiting and interviewing

• Supervise staff in classrooms for students with disabilities

The Educational Service Center staff provides technical assistance in specific areas of concern in order to enhance outcomes for students, to increase knowledge/skills of district personnel, and to provide assistance in the design of effective instructional strategies and/or interventions.
