PHYSICAL THERAPY SERVICES

Physical Therapists (PT’s) contribute to the educational team by enhancing students’ abilities to profit from their educational experiences and to access the general education curriculum.   The purpose of physical therapy is to help classroom professionals provide appropriate programming by assessing neuromuscular development, functional levels, and the potential need for adaptive classroom devices, seating equipment and other adaptive environmental requirements of the student.

Physical Therapists evaluate and design therapeutic educational interventions in the areas of sensory motor development, movement and mobility skills, balance coordination and self-care.  Direct or indirect intervention may be considered for student support.
