PROGRAM FOR STUDENT WITH AUTISM
AND COMMUNICATION DELAYS

The Clermont County Educational Service Center provides the nine school districts in Clermont County several programming options for students with autism and communication delays.  The three units that serve students from preschool through grade five are housed in the Early Childhood Education Center (E.C.E.C.) which is located in the Clermont Northeastern School District.  Each of the three units is designed to promote skill acquisition in four areas:  communication; independence/life skills; socialization; and following schedules and routines needed for transitions.

The school-based educational team in each unit includes a special educator, paraprofessionals, speech and language pathologist and occupational therapist.  Methodologies that are research-based and consistent with best practice are incorporated into program design and delivered as part of instructional program that meets the individual needs of each child.
