| CCESC's Handbook: Section J: Student Policies | |
|
It is the belief of the Governing Board of Education that the use of “Time Out Space” or “Quiet Space”, when utilized correctly, is an effective method of reducing a wide variety of disruptive behaviors in children. Time Out Space may be utilized within a continuum of behavioral interventions after less restrictive interventions have not been successful. It shall be the responsibility of the Superintendent and administration to implement written procedures governing the utilization of Time Out Space and establishing appropriate criteria for the space designated for its use. Further, the Superintendent and administration shall develop procedures to ensure the appropriate monitoring of the use of Time Out and to conduct annually a review of the effectiveness of such procedures.
