VOTING METHOD


All motions shall require for adoption a majority vote of those present and voting, except as provided by statute, these bylaws, or parliamentary authority.

1. A vote to determine the sufficiency of reasons for a governing board member’s absence for 90 days requires two-thirds of the remaining Governing Board members. (R.C. 3313.11)

2. The following actions require a recorded roll call majority vote of the full Governing Board:

A. the purchase or sale of real or personal property;

B. employment of the Superintendent;

C. employment of a teacher, or other employee;

D. adoption of any textbook and

F. adoption, amendment, repeal or suspension of a bylaw or policy of the Governing Board.

3. All actions requiring a vote can be conducted by roll call provided that the vote of each member be recorded. Proxy voting is prohibited.

4. The Governing Board may at any times recess or adjourn to an adjourned meeting at a specified date and place. The adjourned meeting shall take up its business at the point in the agenda where the motion to adjourn was acted upon.
