NEW GOVERNING BOARD MEMBER ORIENTATION
The Governing Board believes that the preparation of each Governing Board
member for the performance of Governing Board duties is essential to the
effectiveness of the Governing Board’s functioning. The Governing Board
shall encourage each new Governing Board member to understand the
functions of the Governing Board, acquire knowledge of matters related to
the operation of the Educational Service Center and learn Governing Board
procedures. Accordingly, the Governing Board shall give to each new
Governing Board member, no later than his/her first regular meeting as a
Governing Board member, for his/her use and possession during the term on
the Governing Board the following item: a copy of the Governing Board
policy manual.
Each new Governing Board member shall be invited to meet with the
Superintendent and Treasurer to discuss Governing Board functions, policy
and procedure.
The Governing Board shall encourage the attendance of each new Governing
Board member at orientation and training meetings.
