CRIMINAL RECORD CHECK
The Clermont Educational Service Center Board of Education is responsible
for the safety and well being of school age students in its care as well as
that of all employees. In the discharge of this responsibility, the
Governing Board is required by Revised Code to conduct a criminal records
check (paid for by the applicant) with respect to any applicant who is under
final consideration for appointment or employment in a position with the
Clermont Governing Board of Educational Service Center.
This criminal records check will be performed by the Bureau of Criminal
Identification and Investigation (BCII) within 30 days and shall include
information from the Federal Bureau of Investigation if the applicant has
not been a resident of the State of Ohio for a five year period immediately
prior to the date the records check was requested.
The Governing Board shall establish the necessary application procedures to
inform prospective employees that a criminal history check is required, and
that appropriate precautions are taken to ensure that an individual's
privacy is not violated in the process.
The Superintendent may recommend a person for employment during the period
of time a criminal record check is being conducted. Employment will, in a
