CLASSIFIED STAFF VACATIONS AND HOLIDAYS
Vacations
Each regular classified employee working 220 days or more per year shall
be entitled to an annual vacation with pay, based on length of service in
the Educational Service Center.
The Governing Board reserves the right to specify the conditions under
which vacation time may be taken.
Employees hired before July 1, 1995 will receive their vacation
entitlement each July 1st depending on their years of service.
Employees hired after July 1, 1995 will receive their vacation entitlement
on their hire date anniversary depending on their years of service.
1. Employees With One Year But Less Than Ten Years of Service
Employees with one year but less than ten years of service in the district
shall be entitled to an annual vacation, exclusive of board adopted
holidays, of ten days.
2. Employees With Ten Years But Less Than Fifteen Years of Service
Employees with ten year but less than fifteen years of service in the
district shall be entitled to an annual vacation, exclusive of board
adopted holidays, of fifteen days.
3. Employees With Fifteen or More Years of Service
Employees with fifteen or more years of service in the district shall be
entitled to an annual vacation, exclusive of board adopted holidays, of
twenty days.
Eligible employees must apply for vacation to the Superintendent or
his/her designee in advance of the start date. Special consideration shall
be given to emergencies. All applications are subject to final approval by
the Superintendent.
Vacations must be taken within the year granted except that up to five
days of vacation may be carried over to the next year.
Vacations will be granted only at times of the year when they will not
interfere with the normal operation of the Educational Service Center.
An employee who terminates employment after at least one year with the
Educational Service Center will be paid for any earned and accrued
vacation (accrued up to the time of termination) up to 25 days based on
the employee’s daily rate. Accrued and unused vacation will be paid up to
25 days to the estate of a deceased employee or a retiring employee.
Holidays
In addition to those holidays prescribed by statute, the Board authorizes
the following paid days for all classified employees who work at least 200
days per year and are under employment contract to the Educational Service
Center on the stated date:
Those holidays adopted annually by the Board as a part of the Clermont
Educational Service Center Office Calendar.
All classified employees shall be paid in full for approved holidays if
such employees have accrued earnings on their next preceding and next
following scheduled work days before and after a holiday or were properly
excused from attendance at work on either or both of those days.
