CLASSIFIED STAFF HIRING


The Governing Board recognizes that it is vital to the successful operation of the Educational Service Center that all positions in the Educational Service Center created by the Governing Board are filled with qualified and competent personnel.

The Governing Board shall approve the employment, fix the compensation and establish the term of employment for each person employed. Such approval shall be given only to those candidates for employment recommended by the Superintendent.

The Governing Board staff will process all applications for employment in the manner specified hereinafter.

Relatives of Governing Board members may be employed by the Governing Board, provided the member of the Governing Board involved does not participate in any way in the discussion or vote.

Any employee's misstatement of fact material to qualifications for employment or the determination of salary shall be considered by this Governing Board to constitute grounds for dismissal.

The employment of classified employees prior to approval by the Governing Board is authorized when their employment is required to maintain continuity of services. Retroactive employment shall be recommended to the Governing Board at the next meeting.

The administration shall seek recommendations in assessing the candidate's qualifications. Such records shall be retained confidentially and for official use only.

All candidates shall be recruited specifically for the position of intent with equal opportunity given to all in compliance with all State and Federal law.
