CERTIFICATED STAFF HIRING
Through its employment policies, the Governing Board will attempt to
attract, secure and retain the most highly qualified personnel for all
professional positions.
The Superintendent and the Governing Board will determine the personnel
needs of the Educational Service Center. The Superintendent will recommend
suitable candidates for employment to the Governing Board. No candidate
will be recommended for employment without references being checked.
Through recruiting and evaluation procedures, the Superintendent and/or
designee will recruit and recommend to the Governing Board the employment
and retention of personnel.
It will be the duty of the Superintendent or his/her designee to see that
persons nominated for employment meet all certification requirements and
the requirements of the Governing Board for the type of position for which
the nomination is made. The Governing Board may accept or reject a
nomination, but an appointment will be valid only with the recommendation
of the Superintendent or his/her designee.
The Superintendent shall be authorized to employ staff members prior to
the approval of the Governing Board when such action is required to
maintain continuity in the operation of the Educational Service Center.
Formal employment shall be recommended to the Governing Board at its next
regular meeting.
The Governing Board shall establish the compensation and term of
employment for all certificated staff members.
