CERTIFICATED STAFF CONTRACTS AND COMPENSATION
PLANS
(CERTIFICATED STAFF TEACHERS)
Contracts
Written contracts for employment shall be issued to all professional
personnel.
The two types of contracts are: limited and continuing (issued according
to Ohio Revised Code).
In compliance with the law and for the mutual protection of the District
and the employee, every administrator shall be required to enter into a
written employment contract.
Each employment contract shall include:
1. the employee's position;
2. the salary and other compensation to be paid;
3. *the number of days to be worked;
4. the term for which employment is contracted including beginning and
ending date;
5. the intervals at which the salary will be paid;
6. such other matters as may be necessary to a full and complete
understanding of the contract and
7. each employee will sign his/her contract/supplemental contract
indicating agreement with listed preparation and experience credit and
salary computation. It is the employee's responsibility to understand the
calculations and call attention to the Treasurer to any discrepancies.
Explanations may be obtained at the Educational Service Center upon
request.
*All classroom teachers will follow the school calendar (including
professional and conference days) in their assigned district.
Compensation
The Governing Board retains the authority to specify the salary of new
positions and to determine the credit to be awarded for placement on an
existing salary schedule.
The Superintendent is authorized to credit for placement on the salary
schedule all past service of an applicant for employment in this District
on the following basis:
1. Service in a State approved public school located in this State or
territory under U.S.A. cognizance, or a private school located in this
State.
2. Credit shall be given for service in the military of this country; one
year credit on schedule for each year served to a maximum of five years
credit.
3. A written salary notice will be issued to all professional personnel
notifying them of position and salary on or before June 30.

ADMINISTRATORS
Contracts
All administrative-supervisory contracts (not to exceed five years) will
be offered as follows unless recommended differently by the
Superintendent.
1. First-year employees shall receive a one-year contract.
2. Upon successful completion of the one-year contract, the employee will
be eligible for a two-year contract.
3. Upon successful completion of the two-year contract, the employee will
be eligible for a three-year contract.

administrators.
2. A written salary notice will be issued to all administrative personnel
notifying them of position, additional responsibilities and salary on or
before June 30.
