CURRICULUM DEVELOPMENT
The Governing Board recognizes that the curriculum is the core of a sound
educational program for the local school districts. To this end and in
accordance with Ohio Revised Code and Operating Standards, the Governing
Board shall:
1. Prescribe a curriculum for all school districts under its control.
2. Direct the Superintendent to provide assistance to the local school
districts in the development of curriculum and curriculum services and to
establish procedures to ensure the effective participation of staff members
and other appropriate stakeholders.
3. Ensure that a Course of Study shall be developed for all classes taught
using as a guide the state –adopted Model Courses of Study, objectives
assessed by the state Proficiency Tests, National Standards, or other
curricular models in accordance with Ohio Administrative Code 3301-35-04.
4. Review and adopt all Courses of Study for local districts.
5. Ensure that Courses of Study are reviewed and updated as needed in
accordance with Ohio Administrative Code 3301-35-04.
6. Maintain a copy of all approved Courses of Study.
