The Educational Service Center maintains an on-going staff development program for teachers, administrators and classified personnel. Specific components of the program include: Entry Year/Mentor Program: All first year teachers are assigned a mentor. A mentor assists the first year teacher in the transition from student-teacher to teacher. In addition, workshops on mentor training are conducted. First year teachers also have quarterly workshops on topics such as effective discipline techniques, teaching strategies, parent teacher conferences, content and skill development. Shared Inservice Day Consortium: Each October the schools of Clermont County combine to provide an inservice day. Each school is responsible for specific subject areas. Through the consortium, outstanding programs can be provided in all teaching areas.
